Featured Wedding: Whitney & Michael

The dress Whitney chose says it all! She is a fun loving bride who sought after uniqueness with a hint of shock and awe which she graciously achieved. From the vibrant flowers blended with peacock feathers to her flashy wedding dress and her Texas flair cowboy boots, this wedding is completely and characteristically Whitney.

From the bride: It all started on May 31st, 2010 out on the dance floor.  My friends and I staked out a spot next to the cutest guys in the room where we inconspicuously *wink* started dancing, laughing, and taking pictures. When a different boy asked me to dance, I grabbed Michael, the cute guy we were dancing next to, and said “sorry, I’m dancing with him.” We danced throughout the night, and I discovered he was soon to move to California for law school. As we were about to leave the party, my best friend said, “We are not leaving here until you get his number.” Since I was too chicken, I begged her to get it for me. The next day, I told my mom the whole story. Her response was, “Be nice and maybe he will take you to California with him.” It took about a year, but he did. We were sealed for time and all eternity June 24th, 2011 in the Manti Temple.

My favorite color is blue, so it was only fitting that blue was to be the highlight color. I went with a peacock theme because of their lovely, shocking feathers, and the blue matched my colors exactly. A lime green accent worked well with the color scheme. I used peacock feathers in my bouquet, in my bridesmaid’s hair and bouquets, and in the boutonnieres.
