Featured Wedding: Brooke & Parker

When we first saw pictures from Brooke and Parker’s wedding, our mouths just dropped! Not only are all of the details planned and crafted down to the last detail, nearly everything you see was a do-it-yourself project from the bride and groom. Impressive! You’ll fall in love with the vintage/carnival feel, the playful creations, and the stunningly beautiful bride.

From the groom: After three years of dating, we finally got engaged on Christmas Day in Seattle, Washington. I flew up and surprised Brooke while she was with her family celebrating the holidays. I proposed in Kerry Park which overlooks the city. Although we had been ring shopping, I surprised her with a 1920s vintage art deco ring that had been passed down to me from my great grandmother.

Brooke had always dreamed of an outdoor, summer wedding, and luckily, we had a family friend with an amazing backyard that fit her vision perfectly. We wanted the reception to feel elegant, vintage, and fun. We wanted it to feel much like a summer carnival. Our hope was that the guests would enjoy being there so much they would stay all night rather than just stop by.

Literally everything at our wedding sprung up from Brooke’s imagination, and we hand-made much of the decor. For table numbers, we searched old book shops and thrift stores for vintage books with fitting titles for a wedding. Brooke, her mom, and her sisters then propped them open with our picture on one side and the table number on the other over the old pages of the book.
